MSHRM'S IMPACT AND INFLUENCE

MSHRM monitors events in the political, insurance, and educational arenas and takes action where and when it can in order to try to influence the course of matters which have an impact on the healthcare industry.

First and foremost, however, MSHRM remains oriented toward the needs of its membership. The Society publishes an annual resource directory, listing all members and represented institutions. The job responsibilities of each member are also listed, so other members have some idea whom to consult on specific problems. This was one of the first projects undertaken by the Society after ratification of the bylaws. The next step was the development of a Society logo and motto, which would be reflective of its philosophy… thus the statement “Better patient care through awareness and risk reduction” was chosen.

Above all, the emphasis of the Society has been on providing the membership with quality educational programs that are geared to the expressed needs and desires of the group.
